Adaptable Driving

Adaptable Therapy Services is a local, woman owned, family business. We are commited to providing expert, rehab-based driver evaluations and training programs for adults, especially those with physical, cognitive, and/or visual impairments. Our highly skilled team adheres to the highest standards of practice as outlined by the Association of Driver Rehabilitation Specialists (ADED) and follows equipment guidelines established by the National Mobility Equipment Dealers Association (NMEDA). Our mission is to support families, equip individuals with necessary tools and evaluations, offer physicians expert opinions on functionality, and collaborate with mobility equipment dealers to ensure accurate equipment installation and fit.

Clientele and Referrals

We serve a diverse group of clients, including adults, older drivers, and individuals experiencing changes in their medical status such as cognitive shifts, amputations, or loss of sensation. Our referrals often come from medical and therapy clinics, hospitals, physician offices, or directly from clients themselves who have driving concerns.

Julia McVicker, MS, OTR/L, DRP

Occupational Therapist, Driving Rehab Professional at Adaptable Therapy Services, LLC

Julia McVicker is a dedicated occupational therapist and founder of Adaptable Therapy Services. She leads divisions such as the Adaptable Driver Evaluation and Training and CIMT Atlanta, focusing on tailored rehabilitation to help individuals regain daily independence. With a Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Brenau University and specialized CIMT training from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Julia brings over twenty years of experience in areas like hand therapy, orthopedics, and stroke rehabilitation. Julia currently serves the state of Georgia as the Chapter President for Georgia and South Carolina on the ADED (Association for Driver Rehabilitation Specialists) board. Along with her mission to serve clients, she also presents courses at local universities on the topic of Driver Rehabilitation and business ownership. At the core of her work is a commitment to patient-centered care and education. Known for her clinical expertise and compassion, Julia actively pursues ongoing learning and values collaboration to improve therapeutic outcomes.
Joanna Emily Reed, MOT, OTR/L, CLT

Joanna Reed is a passionate occupational therapist with a unique background in the arts and a commitment to empowering individuals through rehabilitation. She earned her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Temple University in 2019 and holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and History of Art from The Ohio State University. Before pursuing her OT career, Joanna worked as a professional dancer and administrator for various visual and performing arts organizations.

Joanna brings diverse experience to her practice, having worked in settings such as inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, acute care, skilled nursing, and pediatric and adult home health care. As a Certified Lymphedema Therapist, she has delivered Complete Decongestive Therapy to individuals with lymphedema in outpatient settings.

Now a proud member of the Adaptable Driving team, Joanna combines her creativity and problem-solving skills to help clients achieve independence and live fulfilling lives. Her holistic approach and dedication to patient-centered care make her an invaluable asset to the team and the individuals she serves.
Tabitha Meadows Kastor, OTR/L, ACSM-CEP

Tabitha Meadows Kastor, OTR/L, ACSM-CEP is a dedicated occupational therapist, certified exercise physiologist, and driving rehabilitation generalist in training with Adaptable Driving. She is passionate about supporting the island of Oahu with a comprehensive driving program, providing in-depth evaluations and training for individuals working to maintain or regain their independence behind the wheel after medical changes.

Tabitha earned her Master’s in Occupational Therapy from Augusta University and a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Georgia State University. With years of experience across inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, and community-based therapy, she has worked at leading institutions such as The Queen’s Health System, Shepherd Center, and Grady Health System. She is currently an adjunct professor at Hawaii Pacific University, where she shares her expertise with future healthcare professionals.

Committed to advancing patient-centered mobility solutions, Tabitha has also contributed to non-profit organizations, including Day One Fitness, where she supported individuals with Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s through exercise-based interventions. Her work at the Equality Clinic of Augusta focused on behavioral health coordination for underserved populations.

Now, as part of the Adaptable Driving team, Tabitha is excited to apply her neurological rehabilitation expertise and adaptive mobility knowledge to help clients navigate the road to independence safely and confidently.

Additionally, our team makes regular visits to clients in the Augusta, Georgia area.
